Dandelion as a supplement for horses

Dandelion is a herb that supports digestion and liver and stimulates its functioning. In addition, dandelion is known for the blood-purifying effect of the herb and it contributes to the removal of waste. Waste products are broken down by the horse’s body by the liver and removed by the kidneys, but waste products can also accumulate. The waste products, also called free radicals, then remain behind in the body and can cause all kinds of complaints. It supports the natural removal of waste and thus helps to cleanse the horse’s body.

Fresh or dried dandelion

Many horses like to take a bite of the fresh dandelions that grow in the pasture. Dandelions sprout like mushrooms in the spring and the flowers are very tasty for horses. In addition to the fact that horses can eat the dandelions themselves fresh from the pasture in the spring, you can also give dried dandelions to your horse all year round. The same goes for other herbs, such as cleavers and nettle. By alternating with different herbs, you offer your horse a varied ration that supports overall health.
