When can I give Icelandic Moss to a horse?

Due to the many active substances in Icelandic Moss, such as mucilages, bitter substances, minerals and essential oils, the moss has a soothing and supportive effect on the mucous membranes of the horse. HorseFlex Icelandic Moss is therefore a suitable supplement to provide extra protection for the respiratory tract and stomach in a natural way.

🌱 Helps with stuck mucus naturally
🌱 Contributes to a good appetite

The mucilage in the moss contributes to loosening stuck mucus and thus helps your horse to breathe more freely. This makes Icelandic Moss very suitable for horses that need extra respiratory support. In addition, due to its soothing effect on the stomach, Icelandic Moss naturally supports a horse’s digestion and appetite.

Icelandic Moss as a supplement for horses

Icelandic moss, also called Cetraria islandica, is a shrub-shaped lichen from the Parmeliaceae family. As the name suggests, the moss is mainly found in Iceland, but also in Northern Europe, Greenland, Spitsbergen and the German mountain forests.

🌱 Soothes the respiratory tract
🌱 Supports the stomach

The moss is naturally very rich in various mucilages and bitter substances and is therefore mainly used to support the respiratory tract and stomach. Due to the naturally high concentration of mucilages, it has a soothing effect on the mucous membranes in the respiratory tract and stomach.

Herbs for horses

Herbs are naturally part of a horse’s ration. Are you looking for a natural way to support your horse? Adding (dried) herbs to your horse’s diet can be a nice addition.

If your horse is in a pasture where all kinds of herbs grow, he has free choice in what he eats. You can also choose to pick herbs and give them to the stable later, for example, as a real treat. This can be done fresh, but you can also dry the herbs to make them last a little longer. You can of course also make your own herb mix with dried herbs! Take a look at all our herbs.
