HorseFlex Collagen Complex is a supplementary feed for horses to support cartilage, joints, tendons and ligaments. It contributes to a healthy musculoskeletal system and keeps the joints and cartilage supple and elastic.
Collagen as a supplement for horses
Collagen is a form of protein that plays an important role in keeping cartilage, joints, skin, bones, muscles, nails and hair supple and elastic. It is a naturally occurring substance made up of various amino acids. There are about 28 types of collagen, but types I and II are the most important when it comes to the joints.
🌿 Type I collagen ensures the elasticity and suppleness of the connective tissues. takes care of the structure of the skin, bones, tendons, ligaments, connective tissue and cartilage.
🌿 Type II collagen mainly occurs in elastic cartilage and thus ensures that the joints and bones can absorb shocks and maintain flexibility in the musculoskeletal system.
HorseFlex Collagen Complex contains, in addition to hydrolyzed ASC-approved Collagen type I and type II, also manganese and vitamins C and D3. Manganese is a trace element that contributes to healthy connective tissue and cartilage. Vitamin C and D3 support the natural production of collagen and contribute to healthy bones and joints. This makes it a balanced mix that provides extra support for your horse’s entire musculoskeletal system.
When can I give Collagen Complex to horses?
Collagen is a natural substance that the body produces by breaking down proteins into amino acids. As a horse ages, collagen production decreases, which in some cases requires additional joint support. HorseFlex Collagen Complex is a completely natural mix of two types of collagens, manganese and vitamins C and D3 that naturally contributes to the elasticity of the cartilage, tendons, ligaments and joints. This makes it a very suitable supplement for older horses to support the joints and cartilage. In addition, it can also be given preventively to young horses in growth or horses that are active in sports.
Maintaining healthy joints in horses
There are many different factors that are important for maintaining healthy and flexible joints in horses. Ensure appropriate feeding management, the correct exercise pattern and sufficient rest after exercise. In addition, a supplement for the horse’s joints can be good extra support. This helps keep the joints healthy and flexible from within. Read more in the blog about the different supplements that can provide extra support for your horse’s joints.
